Can you help a teenage girl with her eyeliner skills?

In general, i need help in applying eyeliner. I always put too much on or its uneven. Also, whenever i put eyeliner on my top eyelids, there is always a small gap left between the line and my eye. How can i prevent this? Can you help a teenage girl with her eyeliner skills?
First of all, make sure you have a decent pencil, if you are using a pencil. Pull your eyelid gently out to the side while applying, this will help you get the eyeliner one closer into the lashes. Use small light strokes rather than try to draw a line from the inner to the outer corner for bettre control.

When you are done, smudge the eyeliner with a cuetip to blend your eyeliner further into the lashes - add more eyeliner until desired effect. you can also apply eyeliner onto the inner upper rim of your eye, which should also help you get a more even look.

Of course, if you are using a liquid eyeliner, you need a lot of practice and a steady hand...

Good luck, and in either case - practice and play around with it, and you'll get much better and have fun at the same time :)

Oh - and don't put on too much - less is always more when it comes to makeup - put your eyeliner on first, so that you can more easily fix any oopsies with a qtip and some makeup remover, rather than mess up foundation/concealer and eyeshadow and what not....Can you help a teenage girl with her eyeliner skills?

apply the eyeliner to the best of your ability, then get a brush or eyeshadow applicator (slightly wet works best) then smudge the eyeliner and blend as close to the lashes as possible. Then put the colour on top so its not too obvious.
Lots of tissues, a large eye liner, a pencil sharpener, a mirror and an afternoon to yourself....

Its just experience, make sure the hand you're applying with is steady (maybe rest it on the table or something) and pull you eye torque.... not too much though....

You'll get there ;@)
Make sure your liner is sharpened. Go right into your lashes.

You won't have that gap.

If your lashes aren't moving as you put it on, get in there closer and make them move as you do it.
close your eyes, breathe and relax, we all make the mistake of thinking its gonna go wrong so it does, i wear thick black eyeliner all the time, i learnt this trick: close one eye with the hand u don't use pull the side of ur eye back towards the ear and then up with one finger, u'll see it looks like a closed japanese (no offence) eye with the eyeliner, make sure it's not sharp, but not blunt, sweep it across ur eyelid firmly, but not too hard, try to do the whole eyeline with one streak so u know how to do theother one the same, it just takes practice, once u get into a routine, u'll be fine, try using liquid eyeliner, it's easier
Hi, try the link below.

Well just sit in the corner and don't use the eyeliner that has bush. Try to use the pencils ones if the other one is difficult. OK just sit next to the wall and try to concentrate on it. Then shake the eyeliner and before applying on your eyes just wiped like just touch it with tissue so that it won't be thick and then apply on your eyes. Don't stretch your eyes keep the mirror in front of you and hold your eye so that you can't blink.

Hope it 'l work for you. Best of luck
After linning one eye wait two minutes, then line the other one, just use eyeliner daily and line your upper lid twice,do not try thin line. And change your liner in every 2-3 months.
just keepon try and you will get ther hang of it with eyeliner dont tell any sometime i try to work with eyeliner but it work out if you have some one to walk you though the step applying eyeliner
Try a liquid liner with a fine brush. Wipe the brush against the opening of the liquid partto get rid of excess. Pull your eyes out to the side slightly and apply slowly using small stokes instead of doing it in one line.

It took me years to perfect my eyeliner and I still get it wrong sometimes. Just practice. When you are sat indoors not planning to go anywhere, keep on practicing.
just experiment and you will get use to puttng i on!
i put it on just underneath my lashes. also if u smudge it it looks softer and more natural. if u see what i mean?
put it on thin at first, u can always add more. or see a make up specialist at a mall. they can give u professional tips and advice. as for the top, cant help u there, i could never do it!
I would start with a very good quality eye pencil and make sure it is sharpened but not too sharp. I would apply over eyeshadow or at least prep your eyelid with some foundation set with loose powder or any base, for that matter. Also, I would not pull down on your eyelid... doing this over and over will eventually damage the skin's elasticity over time. I would look straight into a mirror and tilt your head back slightly. As you do this and look into the mirror, you should be able to see more of your eyelid. Start from the outside and work your way in, getting as close to the lash line as possible. You can also make a small dot where you want your line to begin and end... and even make dots in between and ';connect them'; later to make a more accurate line. You can always use a cotton swab dipped in a little bit of lotion (very little) to ';erase'; mistakes. Once you get the hang of this, you can move onto liquid. :) Good luck!
You want to use an actual eyeliner pencil, they are much easier to use and look more natural than liquid. I recommend N.Y.C. eyeliners they work very well and last for awhile. You want to start by lining from corner to corner on the bottom of your lid by slightly pulling your eye down like this.

Then you want to do the same thing with the top of your lid like this

And when you are done you will get an intense but not overdone look like this

I apologize for the darkness and size of the pictures I am kinda digital camera retarded. I hope that helps!
Right, first I would like to say I had the same problem. I tried websites and stuff and they didn't give good instructions and didn't help me really. But I read in a magazine about sessions you can have to train teen's (such as yourself) how to apply make-up properly. It might be a good idea!! hope it helps xx

p.s- I'm not trying to say your already not good at putting on make-up!
hold on to ur eye lashes and pull down.. then pretty much run the liner right over the roots of ur lashes.. that way.. no gap! and dnt worry about putting liner on the bottom lids.. it makes ur eyes look smaller if you have smaller eyes and want to make them big.. or if you have big eyes and want to make them look gorgeous!
course u can i did beauty therapy at college and thats wen i learned
here are some tips:

even though it is much harder to apply, putting on maskara before eyeliner makes your eyes look more fuller and will help stop you from going over board

for the top eyelid, pull it from the outer corner so make it as straight as possible.

practice practice practice!!! sit down one day and just do the eyeliner thing over. and over. and over. and over...thats how i learned and im pretty good at eyeliner right now

if you only put eyeliner on your top eye than it will make them look smaller

on the top lid, try only going to the center to make the look bigger

on the bottom lid, try to not go more than 1/2 to 2/3 of your bottom lid with eyeliner to make them look bigger.

experement with colour. black and brown are best for most people but grey looks great on some people. as for unnatural colours, ONLY FOR NIGHTTIME!!!!

liquid eyeliner is great, but you need a bit of a more steady hand for it

same with gel eyeliner

try to get you eyeliner pencil as sharp as possible

to avoid eyelier pencil from breaking when sharpening, stick in freezer for about an hour before hand.

once you get good enough to do liquid eyeliner, the best water proof liquid eyeliner is waterproof maskara with an eyeliner brush

the better your eyeliner, the easier it is to put on

dont put eyeliner on the inside and outside of your eye until you get to be really good at getting it as close to the eyelashes a possible

have fun
If you try for the lashes you will get the eye
