What songs does a DJ need for a teenage party?

Also how serious are teenagers about music? How would they react if I played the wrong style? What songs does a DJ need for a teenage party?
if they're chavvy sham kinda teenagers then anything in the charts right now,all that screechy **** ';rave'; music ,they've no appreciation for proper rave or trance.........if they're emo then anything from slipknot...to....msi and stuff like that........yea if you play the wrong style music there gonna go mad and call you everything! What songs does a DJ need for a teenage party?
They might laugh if you play the wrong style. Go to a Radio Station's website and look at the top 100 list. They might like it if you play something weird by accident. But if you want to throw in a weird song go ahead. Play ';Rainy Day Women'; by Bob Dylan. That'll make 'em laugh.
Anything from The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Vanilla Ice, Kenny G, Earth Wind and Fire, Garth Brooks, Poisen, and Celine Dion. Those are great for teenage parties!
Being honest,

It depends who is going to the party,

You would be best off with a mixture of genre's

I'm 14, and I live in liverpool, UK, and most of my friends are into indie music,

You're best with a mixture tbh,

Indie, R'n'B, Hip Hop, Pop,

OR,

you could just make it a request type thing :)

But then you'd need to make sure you are well stocked up on every kind, cause I know that there are lots and lots of music genre's

good luck :)

and yeah, most teenagers are pretty passionate about their music :'']

hope I helped,

xxx
The real answer: It depends.

Regions of the country aren't all the same. Schools aren't all the same. Teenagers aren't all the same. There is no where near enough information in your question to accurately answer you question.

You can typically predict some of the tastes of teenagers by listening to the most popular local top 40 format radio stations, but that won't get you through the whole party. Beyond that, you need to know your audience.
